BEST WESTERN HOTEL ROBBED AT GUN POINT

At 12:44 a.m. on December 12, 2017, officers from the Manassas City Police responded to the Best Western located at 8640 Mathis Ave for a report of an armed robbery.


The clerk told police a male subject entered the hotel, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.


The suspect fled the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.


Suspect Description:
-White male/ 5’10”/thin build.
-The suspect was last seen wearing a black Nike hoodie, black pants, and a black ski mask.

ARMED ROBBERY - CAN YOU ID?

On Sunday, October 29, 2017 at approximately 4:00pm, officers responded to the 8500 block of Oliver Court for a robbery call. 


The victim reported the man pictured here walked up to him and demanded his wallet. The suspect displayed a handgun and the victim complied. 


The victim was able to snap a picture of the suspect as he was walking away toward Portner Avenue, with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Man Dies of Stab Wounds on Bragg Lane

At approximately 5:10 a.m. on November 11, 2017, the Manassas City Police responded to the 9700 block of Bragg Ln for a report of a male subject lying on the sidewalk.  Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound.  The victim succumbed to his injury, and was pronounced dead on the scene.  


The victim has been identified as Elvin Ulises REYES-REYES, a 24–year-old resident of Manassas.  The investigation revealed the victim approached a group of individuals inside a residence on the 9700 block of Bragg Ln and a verbal altercation ensued.  The argument escalated and turned physical outside the residence.  During the encounter one of the individuals, later identified as Erick Moises ROMERO,   produced a knife and stabbed the victim. A second suspect involved in the encounter was identified as ROMERO’s brother, Richard Gamaliel ROMERO SORTO, a 23-year-old resident of Maryland. Erick Moises ROMERO was arrested and charged with 2nd degree murder, possession of a knife in the commission of a felony, and is currently being held without bond.  


A court date has been set for December 29, 2017. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound.The adult male victim succumbed to his injury, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim in this case appears to be in his mid-twenties. 


Detectives have identified multiple persons of interest.

Detectives believe this to be an isolated incident, and the victim and the persons of interest knew each other. The investigation is ongoing and more details will be forthcoming when available.If anyone has any information, call the Crime Solvers tip line at 703-330-0330.

Cash Stolen from Grocery Store

 On Monday, November 6, 2017 at approximately 12:00pm, surveillance footage captured the suspect pictured above entering THE CENTRO AMERICANA GROCERY 9928 Cockrell Rd, Manassas, VA and removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the office area. He then left the scene in a dark blue Hyundai Veracruz, possibly 2009 - 2011.

Dog Stolen From Back Yard

 At approximately 7:49 p.m. on October 24, 2017, the Manassas City Police responded to 9000 block of Whispering Pine Ct for a report of a larceny.  Officers met with the victim who stated her dog was stolen from the backyard of her residence.

The dog is described as an eight-week-old white and tan male Pitbull named Zeus.  The victim stated the incident occurred sometime during the afternoon hours on October 24th.

Manassas City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for damage to City owned Utility Property in the area of Signal Hill Road and Lehr Ct.  The incident occurred sometime between September 1st and September 15th, 2017.

Bank Robbery

BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT - ROMERO

FYI UPDATE...BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

 

During the course of the investigation of the robbery of the United Bank on Center Street, Manassas City Police Detectives made contact with investigators from the Prince William County Police Department, and the Anne Arundel County Police Department in Maryland, and determined the suspect was also involved in similar incidents in their jurisdictions.The suspect was later identified as Jack Antonio ROMERO, a thirty-year-old resident of Silver Spring, MD. Following the investigation, Manassas City Police Detectives obtained warrants for ROMERO.


On September 20, 2017, the Anne Arundel County Police Department located and arrested ROMERO near his home in Silver Spring, MD. ROMERO is currently awaiting extradition back to Virginia where he will face charges for the United Bank

-Enter bank while armed to commit larceny

On September 14, 2017 at 1:27 p.m. the Manassas City Police Department responded to United Bank, located at 9626 Center Street for a report of a robbery. 


The reporting party told police the suspect entered the bank, implied he was armed with a gun and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. 


Suspect Description: -White Male/Possibly Hispanic -Approximately 5’7”-5’9” Tall - Last seen wearing a silver construction hat, yellow construction vest, white shirt with dark sleeves, and blue jeans.

7-Eleven Armed Robbery

2nd Robbery Same Location Since May 3, 2017

 At 1:11 a.m. on June 14, 2017, the Manassas City police responded to 8402 Digges Rd (7-Eleven) for a report of an armed robbery.  


The store clerk told police a black male entered the store wearing a mask, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.  The suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.  A police k-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located.  No injuries were reported by the victim.

Grand Larceny of Eye Glasses and More

 On April 13, 2017 at approximately 11:30 AM, the pictured suspect entered May, Hettler & Associates Optometry, located at 9150 Key Commons Court in Manassas.The suspect selected several eyeglass frames from a display case, and left the business without paying for the items.

The suspect was observed on video surveillance and is described as a black male, approximately 45-years-old, six feet tall, 180 lbs, with short black/gray facial hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray suit jacket, blue jeans, and a gray cap.The suspect is believed to have stolen similar items from other businesses throughout the area. The total loss of merchandise is estimated to be several thousand dollars.
